Intensive Occupational Therapy Program
Welcome to the Bright Start Pathway
Unlock Your Child’s Potential with Fast, Focused, and Personalized Support for Lasting Change
Bright Start is an intensive occupational therapy program. Instead of 1-2 sessions a week, your child will work one-on-one with a therapist for 2 to 3 hours a day, over the span of 1 to 3 weeks. That concentrated time helps kids build skills faster than typical weekly therapy alone.
Bright Start is built for children with communication delays, behavior challenges, focus difficulties, retained baby reflexes, sensory struggles, or motor delays.
If you've tried other approaches and feel stuck, Bright Start offers a focused, hands-on path to real progress in a short amount of time.
What to Expect
Children often leave their Bright Start therapy feeling more calm, focused, and confident, better able to engage with the world around them and take on new challenges with joy. Changes continue to unfold over the six weeks following an intensive.
Commonly observed benefits include:
Decreased meltdowns and faster recovery from upset
Improved sleep and calming
Improved communication and social connection
Improved motor coordination and body awareness
Decreased hypersensitivity to sensory input
Improved academic performance in areas such as reading, writing, and math
Improved focus and executive function
This is a non-invasive, medication-free approach that works with your child's body, not against it.
What's Included in the Bright Start Pathway
1. Comprehensive Evaluation and Personalized Treatment Plan: Each child begins with a thorough assessment of sensory processing, motor coordination, communication, social skills, primitive reflexes, and visual function. This informs a personalized treatment plan built around your child's unique needs. NeuroAdaptive Therapy™ targets specific developmental goals such as focus, coordination, emotional regulation, and connection, and may also address key brain areas based on your child's profile.
2. Intensive Sessions Using Cutting-Edge Therapy Tools: We use a powerful combination of therapeutic tools and techniques, including:
Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT): Gentle, non-invasive laser light that supports brain function, emotional regulation, and sensory processing
Sensory Integration and Motor Activities: Engaging exercises that help your child process and respond to sensory input more effectively
Primitive Reflex Integration: Targeted movement patterns that help resolve retained reflexes that may be impacting development
3. End-of-Bright-Start Report and Follow-Up: You'll receive a comprehensive report summarizing your child's progress, next steps, and home recommendations, along with a follow-up session one week later to support continued success.
Bonus: Nutritional and Supplement Guidance: We offer recommendations on dietary support and supplements when appropriate, especially if underlying biomedical factors may be influencing development.

Laser therapy, backed by over 4,000 studies, uses gentle red and infrared light to support brain function, reduce inflammation, and help the body heal. It can boost focus, mood, and sensory regulation.
At Bright Beginnings, we use state-of-the-art lasers from Avant, a trusted leader in clinical laser technology, safe for children and powerful in its results.
-
In addition to laser therapy, we use a variety of other tools based on each child's tolerance and goals, including the Neuronic Light Helmet, Hoolest vagus nerve stimulator, Apollo Neuroband, Rezzimax Tuner Pro, Saebo, Brain Driver, Higher Dose PEMF, Eyelights, Bobo board, vibration plate, and Blaze Pods.
We're always adding new tools to our toolkit to make sure we're using the most current, safe, and effective options for children.
-
Cold laser therapy, also called Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or low-level light therapy, is generally regarded as safe for therapeutic use and FDA approved to support healing, reduce inflammation, and improve how the body and brain function.
At Bright Beginnings, your child's safety is our top priority.
Gentle and Low-Intensity
Cold lasers use low levels of light that don't produce heat, so there's no risk of burns or tissue damage. The treatment is comfortable, and most children don't feel anything at all during the session.Non-Invasive and Needle-Free
There are no incisions, needles, or medications involved. It's a completely external treatment that works through light applied to the skin.Minimal Side Effects
Side effects are rare and mild. Occasionally a child may have slight redness or temporary irritation at the treatment site, which typically fades quickly.Safe When Used by Trained Professionals
Our team follows strict safety protocols to ensure cold laser therapy is used properly and effectively. Results are best, and safest, when guided by experienced professionals. When Cold Laser Therapy Should Be Avoided
While cold laser therapy is safe for most children, it isn't recommended in a few situations, including directly over the eyes, over active cancer sites, or with certain medical conditions we'll discuss during your consultation.Want to learn more? Parent Testimonials
Parent of 10-year-old with Autism
“After years of trying different therapies and approaches, this intensive felt like we were truly addressing the root of his challenges. Katie’s personalized approach, combined with the cutting-edge techniques used during the sessions, like low-level laser therapy, reflex integration, and targeted sensory work, was phenomenal! We are excited to move forward with weekly sessions and look forward to our son’s continued growth.
If you are a parent feeling stuck or like you have tried everything, this program is absolutely worth it. It gave our son the tools he needs to thrive. Katie is not only a gifted therapist, but a powerful resource and advocate. We are forever grateful.”
Parent of a 5-year-old with Autism, retained reflexes, and speech delays
“We are overflowing with gratitude for the immediate and remarkable improvement we witnessed in our daughter after the intensive program. The very next week, my husband and I were frequently moved to tears seeing her openly interacting, smiling, playing, and talking—behaviors she had never before shared with her family. We are in awe of her increased confidence, better information retention, willingness to share her thoughts and tell us stories, and accurate memory. Her life is undeniably changing for the better, and we feel incredibly blessed to have found this program.”
Parent of a 14-year-old with quadriplegic spastic cerebral palsy
“Thank you for the many hours you committed to giving G*** the best intensive possible—from the research and consultations you did, to the incredibly individualized activities and games for his physical limitations you offered, to the continuous encouragement and equipping you provided; it nourished us in ways we didn’t even anticipate. And that was all in addition to the opportunity of just receiving the amazing laser light “vitamins” that offered such healing for his injury and inflammation. Thank you for what you do—it is a gift to families like ours.”
Parent of a 4-year-old with retained reflexes and Sleep difficulties
“He slept through the night in his own bed! That only happens maybe once a month.”
Parent of a 3-year-old with retained reflexes and anxiety
“He snuggled me on the couch for 15-20 minutes this morning, and he has NEVER been able to settle that long. Maybe 5 minutes max. But he was so sweet and content.”
